Since Thursday, three new exchange traded funds of the issuer Global X are tradable via Xetra and Börse Frankfurt.
With the Global X Genomics & Biotechnology UCITS ETF, the Global X U.S. Infrastructure Developments UCITS ETF and the Global X Cloud Computing UCITS ETF, Global X is expanding its product range of thematic ETFs for investors on Xetra.
With the Global X Genomics & Biotechnology UCITS ETF, investors can invest in a portfolio of 40 companies from the genomics and biotechnology sectors. To be included in the index, the stocks must generate at least 50 percent of their sales with molecular biological processes for the modification of DNA (genome editing), the verification of entire DNA sequences (genome sequencing), the development and validation of genome-based remedies and therapies, computer- and statistics-based genome analysis or biotechnology. The weighting of a security will be at least 0.3 per cent but no more than four percent.
The Global X U.S. Infrastructure Developments UCITS ETF focuses on up to 100 companies that profit from infrastructure projects in the U.S. and are listed on an American stock exchange. These include construction companies engaged in the development and engineering of projects, as well as producers and suppliers of raw materials, composites, products, and heavy construction equipment. To be considered for the index, companies must generate at least 50 percent of their sales from the above business areas. The weighting of a stock varies between 0.3 and three per cent.
The Global X Cloud Computing UCITS ETF gives investors access to 30 companies whose business model is to provide any kind of computing resources over the Internet. On the one hand, these can be SaaS, PaaS or IaaS companies that distribute their software, their platform for developing software or the use of storage space and servers via the Internet by licensing. On the other hand, the index may also include companies that maintain and provide the storage space as well as cooling and power systems to operate the data centres or generate their revenue from the manufacturing of the hardware used.
