A new exchange-traded fund issued by Invesco has been tradable on Xetra and Börse Frankfurt since Friday.
The Invesco Solar Energy UCITS ETF gives investors access to companies worldwide that generate at least one third of their revenues from solar energy. These include manufacturers and service providers of solar power systems or solar-powered charging systems, suppliers of raw materials and components for solar producers and companies that sell electricity generated from solar energy. In addition, service providers that take care of the financing, installation and maintenance of solar systems are considered.
The benchmark index comprises at least 20 companies that are weighted according to their level of involvement in the solar industry and their market capitalisation. The weighting of a stock is limited to a maximum of 10 per cent.
Companies with business activities in the areas of nuclear energy, thermal coal and oil and gas are excluded from the index.
