New equity index ETFs from HSBC on Xetra: access to companies in Asia-Pacific and emerging markets with a focus on decarbonisation

Two new exchange-traded funds from HSBC Asset Management are tradable via Xetra and Börse Frankfurt since Thursday.

The HSBC MSCI AC Asia Pacific ex Japan Climate Paris Aligned UCITS ETF allows investors to participate in the performance of large and mid-cap companies domiciled mainly in Australia, China, India, South Korea, and Taiwan, excluding Japan.

The HSBC MSCI Emerging Markets Climate Paris Aligned UCITS ETF gives investors the opportunity to invest in large and mid-cap companies from 24 emerging markets.

Only companies that benefit from the transition to a low-carbon economy by effectively managing their emissions, resources (such as electricity, water, and waste) and climate-related risks are considered for selection. The aim is to meet climate protection requirements to achieve the long-term goals of the Paris Climate Agreement.

For inclusion in the respective indices, companies must not engage in significant business activities in the areas of tobacco, thermal coal mining, oil, and gas, or be involved in ESG controversies or activities that negatively impact the environment.
