Infrastructure Capital Advisors Launches Its Newest ETF: the InfraCap Small Cap Income ETF (SCAP)

NEW YORK–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Infrastructure Capital Advisors (“InfraCap”), a leading provider of investment management solutions designed to meet the needs of income-focused investors, is today announcing the launch of the latest addition to the firm’s lineup of Exchange-Traded Funds (“ETFs”): the InfraCap Small Cap Income ETF (NYSE Arca: SCAP).

SCAP is actively managed by InfraCap Founder, CEO & Portfolio Manager Jay D. Hatfield. The Fund’s investment approach will center around identifying and investing in small cap U.S. companies that are poised to deliver both income and growth potential, particularly those equities which in the eye of the fund’s management fall into the category of value stocks.

“Small-cap stocks are trading at historically low prices and may be poised for a bounce back year in 2024. We believe that substantial alpha can be added through active management of the less efficient small cap sector,” said Hatfield. “At the same time, while investors and advisors understand the role that small cap exposure can play in a growth-focused approach, less understood is the role this kind of exposure can play in an income-generating portfolio. My colleagues and I are very excited to be bringing SCAP to market and for the continued opportunity to provide access to new sources of income for our investors.”

SCAP will seek total return through a blended approach of capital appreciation and current income. The Fund will focus primarily on the securities of U.S.-listed small cap companies, which is defined as companies with a market capitalization within the range of companies in the Russell 2000 Index. Investments may take the form of common stocks, preferred stocks, convertible securities, debt instruments, equity-linked notes, or other small cap-focused ETFs.

SCAP joins an InfraCap ETF lineup which includes the Virtus InfraCap U.S. Preferred Stock ETF (NYSE Arca: PFFA), InfraCap REIT Preferred ETF (NYSE Arca: PFFR), InfraCap MLP ETF (NYSE Arca: AMZA), and the InfraCap Equity Income Fund ETF (NYSE Arca: ICAP). PFFA and AMZA are both Morningstar rated and as of September 30, 2023, each of PFFA and AMZA received a 5-star Morningstar RatingTM in its three year category*.

Hatfield is the lead Portfolio Manager for all of the InfraCap funds and brings more than 30 years of experience to his work on behalf of clients. As of the date of this release, InfraCap manages over $1.5B in total assets.

About Infrastructure Capital Advisors

Infrastructure Capital Advisors, LLC (ICA) is an SEC-registered investment advisor that manages exchange traded funds (ETFs) and a series of hedge funds. The firm was formed in 2012 and is based in New York City. ICA seeks total-return opportunities driven by catalysts, largely in key infrastructure sectors. These sectors include energy, real estate, transportation, industrials and utilities. It often identifies opportunities in entities that are not taxed at the entity level, such as master limited partnerships (“MLPs”) and real estate investment trusts (“REITs”). It also looks for opportunities in credit and related securities, such as preferred stocks.

Current income is a primary objective in most, but not all, of ICA’s investing activities. Consequently, the focus is generally on companies that generate and distribute substantial streams of free cash flow. This approach is based on the belief that tangible assets that produce free cash flow have intrinsic values that are unlikely to deteriorate over time. The Russell 2000 Index is a small-cap U.S. stock market index that makes up the smallest 2,000 stocks in the Russell 3000 Index. It is not possible to invest directly in an index. The iShares Russell 2000 ETF (IWM) is the largest small cap ETF, by market cap. In addition, there is a highly liquid option market according to total option volumes, as of December 8, 2023. *Morningstar ratings are based on risk-adjusted returns.
