Cboe Canada Welcomes Global X for 3rd Launch in 3 Weeks

TORONTO–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Cboe Canada Inc. (“Cboe Canada”) welcomes return issuer Global X Investments Canada Inc. (“Global X”) for the launch of two additional index tracking ETFs. The newest funds offer access to developed and emerging markets around the world and feature simultaneous covered call and leveraged strategies.

“We’re proud to expand our Equity Essentials suite and offer Canadians two new exciting ways to access a world of investment opportunity through EACL and EMCL,” said Rohit Mehta, President and CEO of Global X. “Developed and Emerging Markets exposure can deliver diversification benefits that aren’t possible with just a domestically focused portfolio. With their enhanced light leverage and covered call overlays, these ETFs offer the potential for more growth, more income, or both. We are delighted to deepen our partnership with Cboe Canada and MSCI around our joint commitment to innovation in the Canadian ETF marketplace.”

The new Global X funds, now listed and trading on Cboe Canada, are as follows:

  • Global X Enhanced MSCI EAFE Covered Call ETF (EACL)
  • Global X Enhanced MSCI Emerging Markets Covered Call ETF (EMCL)

“Three Global X launches in as many weeks! It is an honour to be selected as the exchange of choice for these latest funds. Global X is leveraging their extensive expertise to combine the demand for broad market index tracking funds with advanced, derivatives-enabled strategies,” commented Rob Marrocco, Global Head of ETF Listings at Cboe Global Markets. “We are very excited to see the continued expansion of ETFs from Global X – listed across Cboe’s exchanges around the world.”

The two new funds are now trading alongside six Global X ETFs already listed on Cboe Canada. Investors can trade units of all Global X ETFs through their usual investment channels, including discount brokerage platforms and full-service dealers.
